All work is performed by hand with a wire tip burner on basswood, Italian poplar, or eastern maple depending on the picture and desired application. Each piece is sealed for protection unless omitted for under glass framing. Framing shown in the gallery is for example only and is not usually included. Some gloss can be added if desired, but heavy gloss is strongly discouraged due to the ease of scratching. No color or other foreign substances are added. While labor intensive, the above combination allows Roger to produce your one of a kind piece for a fraction of an original painting. A pyrographic portrait is unmatched for uniqueness and value.

All work is done from photographs. Studio quality or sharp 5"x7" and up are desirable. Color or black and white photos work equally well. For famous personalities, Roger can usually find suitable material unless you already possess a favorite.
